Privacy

No account. Your files never leave your Wi-Fi.

That's the whole policy. What follows is the same sentence, slower — written to be read, not to be agreed to blind. Reelloft is a local-first desktop app made by WaveApp LLC ("we", "us").

01 — What never happensNever, by architecture

Reelloft has no account, no login, and no telemetry. It reads the folders you point it at and serves them over your local network to your own phone and TV. Your files, filenames, and viewing activity are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

The app collects nothing about your library. No view tracking.

02 — The exceptionsThe entire network footprint

Two things on the app touch the internet, both by design: buying the license, and the updater. Checkout is provided through Stripe Managed Payments, with Sold through Link, LLC acting as merchant of record. We never see or store your card number — Stripe and Link handle that (see the Stripe Privacy Policy). To deliver your license we keep one row per purchase, holding:

  • your email address,
  • the Stripe checkout/order ID,
  • the license key we issued you — anyone who has the key can unlock the paid features, so treat it like a password, and
  • when that key was created, and when we emailed it.

We use this to email you your key (via Resend, our transactional email provider), to show it to you on the thank-you page just after checkout, to avoid issuing a second key if Stripe tells us about the same payment twice, and to look your key up if you lose it or contact support. Your license key is verified offline on your device; validating it never contacts our servers.

The app makes one other request of its own: on launch it asks dl.reelloft.com whether a newer version exists, so it can offer you the update. It sends nothing about you or your library, but like any web request our host sees your IP address. Everything else — scanning, browsing, casting, transcoding, and checking your license — happens on your own machine and network.

03 — On your machineWhat the app stores locally

The library index, your watch positions, and your license key live on your computer, in the app's own folder. Uninstalling deletes them. Nothing is synced, backed up, or mirrored anywhere — including to us.

04 — This websiteWhat the site stores

One preference: your light/dark theme choice, in your browser's local storage. This website uses PostHog US Cloud for product analytics (page views and a small set of button events). Autocapture and session replay are off. We do not send page contents, query strings, URL fragments, email addresses, orders, license keys, or media and local-network data as custom properties on our manual events. Manual events are limited to download click, buy click, and opening support, with fixed categories such as language, placement, operating system, architecture, and a broad acquisition channel.

This website analytics does not apply to the Reelloft desktop app or its local phone interface. The app has no telemetry; your files, filenames, viewing activity, devices, and local network stay outside PostHog. PostHog may receive standard request metadata (including IP) needed to deliver analytics. See the PostHog Privacy Policy.

Our host and CDN (RackNerd and Cloudflare) also keep standard server logs (e.g. IP address and request time) for security and reliability; these are not used to identify you.

Only the parties needed to sell and deliver the app: Stripe / Sold through Link, LLC (Managed Payments), Resend (license email), PostHog US Cloud (website analytics), and Cloudflare / RackNerd (hosting). We do not sell your data.

Email [email protected] to see or delete the purchase row described above. Nothing deletes it automatically: we keep it while we sell and support the app, and we remove it when you ask — Stripe still keeps its own record of the payment for tax and accounting. Deleting our copy does not switch off a key already activated on your computer; you can remove that yourself with Settings → Deactivate.
