v0.2.1 · In-app license flow and Linux ffmpeg

  • Buy and activate without leaving the app: the license window opens checkout in your browser, waits for the purchase, and takes the key from the thank-you page through a reelloft:// link. Restore a key or open the license receipt from the same window.
  • The screen picker no longer lists this computer's own AirPlay receiver, and the empty state links to the license offer.
  • Poster tiles keep their placeholder until the cover has loaded, then fade it in; the scanning banner floats over the wall instead of moving the grid.
  • Keyboard focus is one beam ring on posters and dialogs.
  • Linux ships with its own ffmpeg: cover art, video details, and on-demand conversion work straight after install.
  • Linux ARM64 runs on Debian 12 and Ubuntu 22.04 again.
  • With reduced motion on, controls change shade in place instead of sliding or growing.
  • Even-width digits for prices, running times, and counters; nothing drifts off the side of the screen on narrow phones.

v0.2.0 · Dual theme and casting polish

  • Light and dark themes: the app follows your system setting, with a one-tap toggle in the top bar.
  • Smoother casting start: the position clock waits for the TV's first real signal instead of running ahead.
  • When a video ends on the TV, the app resets to Play — including renderers like Kodi that never say "stopped".
  • A TV or computer advertising itself on several networks now appears once in the screen picker.
  • Picking a screen after pressing Play starts playback right away; play/pause/stop buttons show a waiting state.
  • The beam mark keeps its night tile in both themes, and selected text follows the beam.
  • Website: poster-wall hero, one header and footer on every page, full-width FAQ, and a phone layout that fits on one screen.

v0.1.0 · Initial release

  • Add a folder and Reelloft scans it into a poster-wall library, with no account or cloud library.
  • Scan the desktop QR code to open the library in a phone browser, with no mobile app to install.
  • Cast to DLNA smart TVs, Chromecast or Google TV, and Apple TV with AirPlay.
  • Play compatible files directly and convert MKV, HEVC, and other unsupported formats on demand.
  • Keep the local library available from the system tray, with optional launch at login.
  • Use scanning, browsing, and phone playback for free; every TV cast also previews for five minutes, while a one-time $15 license removes the timer and unlocks unrestricted conversion.
  • Receive automatic in-app updates.
